The position of Staff Chief was held by those beings who acted as aides and coordinators for politicians, executing the will of the figure whom they served.
History[]
Staff Chiefs were active in the days of the New Republic and held office under the auspices of the New Republic Senate, which could strip a staff chief of his or her rank if need be. In 26 ABY, Victor Pomt, Staff Chief for Senator Viqi Shesh of Kuat, was implicated in a corruption scandal and was stripped of his rank pending investigation. Pomt was assassinated, however, before the investigation could take place.
