The StarAnvil was designed as the ultimate blaster rifle. It took the scope technology of a sporting blaster and combined it with the power of a longblaster to create a nasty and powerful weapon.

It was made on the factory-moon of Cuthbern. The factory was annexed by the the Empire and was later destroyed by a Rebel attack. Due to this, very few StarAnvils were produced and all attempts at re-engineering them has failed.
