Concept art from the game
|Star Wars: Imperial Commando|
Star Wars: Imperial Commando is the canceled sequel to the 2005 video game Star Wars: Republic Commando. The sequel was already planned during development of Republic Commando, but it was canceled in 2004 with several concept paintings completed. The game was to focus on Imperial commando soldiers.
The game was to be a sequel to the 2005 first-person shooter video game Star Wars: Republic Commando, which focused on the clone commando unit Delta Squad. The sole confirmed LucasArts crew on the sequel project was Greg Knight, who drew concept sketches and paintings for the game from 2003 to its cancellation in 2004. At that time, design documents had been completed. The LucasArts documentary book Rogue Leaders: The Story of LucasArts is the only source to confirm details about the project.
LucasArts developer Brett Douville commented in 2014 that the game was one of two competing designs for the sequel, along with Star Wars: Rebel Commando, which was to follow up on Sev's story. The team had been unsure of getting to make a sequel, as sales projections for Star Wars: Republic Commando had been low.
