The sequel was already planned during development of Republic Commando, but it was canceled in 2004 with several concept paintings completed. The game was to focus on Imperial commando soldiers.
Plot summary
The game was to focus on the Imperial Commando units, the Empire's elite ground combat troops.[1] Part of the combat was to be against the Rebel Alliance.[2]
Development
The game was to be a sequel to the 2005 first-person shooter video game Star Wars: Republic Commando, which focused on the clone commando unit Delta Squad. The sole confirmed LucasArts crew on the sequel project was Greg Knight, who drew concept sketches and paintings for the game from 2003 to its cancellation in 2004. The LucasArts documentary book Rogue Leaders: The Story of LucasArts is the only source to confirm details about the project.[1]
Continuity
Although there is a whole Star Wars: Republic Commando multimedia series, Star Wars: Imperial Commando was not confirmed to be a continuation of the story of Delta Squad.[1]
