Introduction[]

The Game guide opened with the Prologue from the 2004 novel Republic Commando: Hard Contact, a tie-in to the video game Star Wars: Republic Commando. Told from the perspective of the Republic Commando Theta Squad member Darman, who retells their first and last mission to the planet Geonosis—the squad quickly gets overwhelmed and, save for Darman, they all perish. The prologue is followed by a short "How to use this guide" section, outlining the contents of the guide and the purpose of each section.[1]

Development[]

The game guide, written by Michael Knight, was released by Prima Games on March 8, 2005 in paperback format. The book's dimensions were 8.3 x 0.3 x 10.7 inches and it had 128 pages, weighing at 8.8 ounces.[2] Designed by Simon Olney and Derek Hocking, the product manager was Mario De Govia with Christy Seifert as the editorial supervisor and Rebecca Chastain editing the work. Various concept artwork and screenshots/game models were used throughout the guide.[1]
