Star Wars: Smuggler (also through development was called Star Wars: Scum and Villainy) was a canceled video game in 2004. The game would allow the player to take the role of a smuggler. It was canceled in 2005 with only as far as concept art made. Eventually some concept art would emerge later to be used for The Force Unleashed.
Plot summary
Edit
The player would assume the role of a smuggler set in an Imperial-dominated galaxy. The player would get rewards for buying low and selling high would be enormous although the danger of running afoul of the Imperial authorities would give every decision an extra-keen edge.
Crew
Edit
Confirmed crew include John Stafford and concept art by Greg Knight.
About the concept art Greg Knight said in the reference book Rogue Leaders: The Story of LucasArts released in 2008, "Art was very powerful during this process" he said about new Star Wars game pitches. "In most cases it was best way to quickly convey an idea and rally support for that idea. Artwork depicting gameplay and story moments became more important than designing spaceships or suits of armor. This is outside of what a concept artist is usually asked to do, but it was a better form of communication and use of time." he further said.
