The Star Wars Blu-ray release is the first release of the six main Star Wars films on the Blu-ray format. The collection was released on September 16, 2011. The set was first announced by George Lucas at Celebration V in August 2010.[1]

Each of the individual trilogy sets has three discs, one for each film in the set, including two audio commentary tracks. The Complete Saga set contains these discs and three discs of bonus material.[2]
- Star Wars: The Prequel Trilogy (3-disc set; contains Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith)[3]
- Star Wars: The Original Trilogy (3-disc set; contains Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi)[4]
