The Star Wars 10th anniversary convention was the first officially sponsored Star Wars convention. It was held in honor of the 10th anniversary of Star Wars at the Stouffer Concourse Hotel in Los Angeles, California in 1987.[1] George Lucas attended. Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek, was a surprise guest; this resulted in the only known photograph of him with Lucas being taken by Dan Madsen.[2]
