Star Wars 49 is the forty-ninth issue of the Marvel comic book series Star Wars. It was written by Kieron Gillen, illustrated by Salvador Larroca, and released on June 6, 2018.

Plot summary[]

Part VI
MUTINY AT MON CALA
Rebel leaders Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, and
Han Solo's search for new allies in their struggle
against the evil Galactic Empire has brought them to
the water world of Mon Cala.

But Leia's plan to win Mon Cala to the Rebel cause
has gone horribly wrong, resulting in the Empire's
murder of the imprisoned Mon Calamari king,
Lee-Char. Hesitant to go to war, Regent Urtya stole
the recording of Lee-Char's final words from the
rebels.

But Urtya has had a change of heart and broadcast
the message to his entire fleet! Footage of their
beloved king's death has sparked a revolt, but the
Mon Calamari may not be ready for the Empire's
response....
