Star Wars Blips is a series of animated YouTube short videos produced by Star Wars YouTube channel featuring BB-8 and often R2-D2 or Chewbacca. The first short was released on May 3, 2017.[1] The series includes various creatures or droids, like the porgs[2], BB-9E[3], 2BB-2 or BB-4[4], which were created for the upcoming eighth film of the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, directed by Rian Johnson.

Three episodes were first released on the official Star Wars app during Force Friday II during the Find the Force event, where customers could scan special posters and standees in shops with new products released on Force Friday II to unlock AR rewards, as one of the rewards.[5] These episodes were also released on YouTube in the days after.[3]
