Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded is a canon hardcover reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo and published by Dorling Kindersley on April 5, 2016. It is a follow-up to the Star Wars Legends reference title Star Wars Character Encyclopedia. Content from the expanded version was reissued in the 2017 compendium Star Wars: I Want to Be a Jedi.

DevelopmentEdit

Several of the original book entries have been removed to make place for the new ones. The entries for Baron Papanoida, Bultar Swan, Chi Eekway Papanoida, Cin Drallig, Elan Sleazebaggano, Imperial Dignitary, Airen Cracken, GH-7 Medical Droid, Jocasta Nu, Ko Sai, OOM-9, Passel Argente, Pau'an Warrior, Pilot Droid, Rune Haako, Saelt-Marae, San Hill, Sei Taria, Sun Fac, Ten Numb and Yuzzum were removed. The Mustafarian (Northern / Southern) was merged into one single entry like the Colo Claw Fish, the Opee Sea Killer and the Sando Aqua Monster entry.
