[edit] Behind the scenes
The title of the story arc is a fairly clear reference to the Ernest Hemingway short story "The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber," although Sewell has little in common with Macomber.
The situation involving the authorities landspeeder having its engine ripped out by a chain is a reference to the George Lucas film American Graffiti, where a similar situation takes place.[source?]
