Star Wars Hyperspace
Talk19this wiki
Star Wars Hyperspace was the Official Star Wars Fan Club. It was given its current name in 2004 when it merged with the subscriber feature of StarWars.com, the official Star Wars website.
The Club required a regular subscribers fee for membership. Membership gave subscribers special privileges. Members were given exclusive access to a special Hyperspace section of the official Star Wars site. Members that lived in the United States used to get a free subscription to the Star Wars Insider magazine, but that perk was removed. Hyperspace members were able to create a large range of Star Wars avatars that appear on any of their blogs and posts on the forums. Fan Club members were also given the exclusive use of the Star Wars Blogging tool.
Members could also get discounts and other offers for Star Wars products and memorabilia. These offers became available from time to time.
The members of the fan club also had access to write entries for the databank on the Star Wars site.
On May 5, 2010, StarWars.com announced that the Hyperspace Fan Club would be discontinued in 2011. The week of June 20th the 2010 membership packets began shipping.[1]
The service ceased to exist when the site was re-formatted in late 2011.
