According to Randy Stradley, the fate of Quinlan Vos at the end of the comic came directly from George Lucas.^[1] John Ostrander had initially considered killing Vos off,^[2] and an interview with Jan Duursema in Star Wars Insider before the issue's release claimed that he died.

At the end of this issue, the necklace a Wookiee is dangling above a young Korto Vos was based upon a necklace Doug Wangler, the model for Quinlan Vos, wears in real life.^[source?]
