Star Wars Trilogy: The Original Soundtrack Anthology is a quadruple-CD compilation released on November 23, 1993 by Arista Records. It contains all three soundtracks from the original Star Wars trilogy - Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. The sound is cleaned up from the original soundtrack releases, but the highlight of the box-set is the bonus fourth disc containing outtakes, alternate and expanded cues, and never-before-released tracks that cannot be found anywhere else, including the remastered "Special Edition" packages. The colorful booklet touches upon all facets of John Williams's unforgettable music with extensive and in-depth examination of Williams's classic compositions, including comparisons between the soundtrack recordings and their film version counterparts.
