[edit] Biography

Having achieved the rank of Jedi Knight near 26 BBY, Stass Allie began to define herself from beneath the shadow of Master Adi Gallia, her cousin. Stass Allie was an experienced warrior, but preferred to focus on the development of her healing skills and yearned to join the Jedi Healers. She was eventually inducted into the Circle of Jedi Healers.

As Count Dooku's Separatist Crisis begun to unfurl the bonds of the Republic, Stass Allie advised many high ranking government officials. When word reached the Jedi Order that Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker had been captured by the Separatists on Geonosis, Stass Allie left her advisory post to join the task force and aid in their rescue. One of the few Jedi to survive the massacre on Geonosis, Stass Allie participated in several subsequent battles, despite her desire to focus on healing.

When Master Gallia was killed by General Grievous at Boz Pity, Stass mourned over the loss of her cousin and replaced her on the Jedi High Council and was promoted to Jedi Master and High General. When Coruscant was attacked by the Separatists, Allie was involved in the evacuation of the Senate buildings and provided a transport to Senators Bail Prestor Organa, Mon Mothma and Padmé Amidala.

While preparing to send clone reinforcements to Felucia to assist Aayla Secura and Barriss Offee in the struggle there, Stass was notified by Anakin Skywalker that she was to head to Saleucami immediately to finish what Generals Secura and Quinlan Vos had started.

While patrolling the battlefield of Saleucami, Stass Allie was betrayed by her clone troopers when the execution of Order 66 commenced. Clone Commander Neyo and his wingman opened fire on her speeder bike, killing the Jedi Master in the resulting explosion. The remains of her speeder bike crashed and shattered. She was never notified that Obi-Wan Kenobi defeated General Grievous on Utapau, avenging Adi.

When the Galactic Empire emerged, official records compiled by Sate Pestage stated that Allie was executed for planning to meet at a terrorist rendezvous on Saleucami.

[edit] Behind the scenes

Stass Allie was originally going to be Adi Gallia, a Jedi Council member from The Phantom Menace. However, similarly to how Eeth Koth became Agen Kolar, after Gallia's role had to be recast from Gin Clarke to Lily Nyamwasa, it was decided that her appearance was different enough to become a different character, in spite of both women wearing Tholoth headdresses. Adi Gallia herself still makes an appearance in Attack of the Clones, since archive footage from Episode I featuring the Jedi Master was used as the template for a new Jedi Council scene. It is due to this confusion that publicity photos of Stass Allie feature her holding a blue lightsaber (like Adi Gallia), though she carries a green one in the film.

After Episode II, George Lucas himself decided that if an actor portraying a Human or near-Human Jedi was not available for Episode III, that Jedi would be replaced with a different character entirely.[source?] Nyamwasa thus returned, but when she was not available for pick-up shoots, Lucas broke his own rule and replaced her with not one but two actresses. She was portrayed in hologram form during the second Council scene by Tace Bayliss, and in her death scene by Nina Fallon. Nyamwasa was cut entirely, though she continues to be the canon representation of the character, appearing in the Visual Dictionaries, the action figure packaging and in all other media.
