Stephen J. Sansweet

Stephen J. Sansweet is the former Director of Content Management and Head of Fan Relations for Lucasfilm. He started working at Lucasfilm in February 1996 and eventually became the company's most iconic ambassador to Star Wars fans. Sansweet is currently the Fan Relations Adviser to Lucasfilm.[2] He also owns the world's largest private collection of Star Wars items, which are stored at his home, which he calls "Rancho Obi-Wan". He has authored several Star Wars books, including various encyclopedias and numerous volumes related to collectibles. Sansweet also had an uncredited cameo as a "Naboo courier" in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. He lives in Sonoma County, California.

Sansweet was born and educated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He studied at Temple University from 1962 to 1966, majoring in journalism. Three years after graduating, in 1969, he began work as a reporter at the Wall Street Journal in both Philadelphia and Montreal. He was promoted to deputy bureau chief in 1984, and later the chief of Wall Street Journal's Los Angeles bureau in 1987. In February 1996, he joined Lucasfilm as director of specialty marketing. He served for many years as Lucasfilm's Director of Content Management and Head of Fan Relations.[3]
Sansweet's collection has also been featured on the History Channel's Boy's Toys special "Private Collections".
On October 20, 2010, Lucasfilm announced on StarWars.com that Sansweet would be leaving the company in April 2011.[4] His last day was on April 1, 2011.[5] Sansweet now serves as the Fan Relations Advisor to Lucasfilm.
