Born circa 1965, he is the brother of opera singer Jeffrey Lloyd Roberts.
He began his actor career on 1989 with the series We Are Seven', the same year where he married his wife, Julia Spiers, with whom he is still married today and who has given him two children.
Spiers seems to disappear for the next six years till he appears again in 1996 in a mini-series and a TV movie. He would continue acting the following years, mainly in short roles, next to stars like Joseph Fiennes (Martha, Meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence, 1998) or Whoopi Goldberg (A Knight in Camelot, 1998). He also made guest appearances in several TV series.
On 1999, he started his collaboration with the Star Wars Universe, acting as GunganCaptain Tarpals, who became a counterpart for Jar Jar Binks. He would also act in a TV series about the Scarlet Pimpernel, and in successful Topsy-Turvy.
Spiers continued his career till now by making his usual change between acting in small roles in movies or TV series, and making guest appearances in TV series, returning to science-fiction only to act in two chapters of the new Doctor Who series on 2005.
