Stormtrooper commanders were commanders who led Imperial stormtroopers into battle. A stormtrooper commander led a typical squad of stormtroopers, but they could advance into an Imperial officer's rank if they showed potential. Most stormtrooper commanders wore the same uniform as their troopers did, with an exception being the Imperial sandtrooper, in which case a commander rank was shown through a sandtrooper's pauldron. Another common name or rank of a stormtrooper commander was Stormtrooper Officer.
