The Stromma council was the governing body of the Stromma species. During the time of the New Republic, the council allied itself with the Empire of the Hand after Grand Admiral Thrawn liberated the Stromma worlds from the control of the alien warlord Nuso Esva, and the Stromma Nyama was dispatched to act as a Stromma council liaison to the Empire. However, despite Thrawn's efforts to liberate their species, some members of the Stromma council blamed the Empire of the Hand for the suffering that they had suffered at the hands of Esva's forces.
