Stronghold was a was a cold, stormy, remote planet. It was used by the Rebel Alliance as a safeworld. Little life survived on the surface. The Alliance created a series of caves and tunnels, where Rebel soldiers could hide their families. Approximately 250 non-fighting people could be held in the underground Rebel base.
Stronghold was sometimes used as a prison world for Imperial officers. The Celestial was headed towards Stronghold with a cargo of prisoners when it was lost in Otherspace.
The Charon invaded the planet from Otherspace. They were defeated by the Rebels, and the Charon flagship Desolate was destroyed. One of the few survivors of the Charon attack was Tole Warren.
