Subaltern

Subaltern was a rank among the Warrior caste of the Yuuzhan Vong. Roughly analogous to sergeants or lieutenants, Subalterns commanded squads of Warriors in battle, or were in charge of troops guarding a location.
Supreme Commander Nas Choka personally oversaw the "elevation" of four subalterns in the landing bay of Vong Warship Yammka. Subalterns Doshao, Sata'ak, Harmae, and Tugorn were involved, respectively, in the victory over the New Republic at Dantooine, the attack on Ithor, the taking of prisoners at Obroa-skai, and Tugorn helped sow Belkadan in addition to participating in the overwhelming victory on the system of Gyndine.
S'yito was a subaltern stationed on Selvaris during the latter stages of the Yuuzhan Vong War.
