A subrepeating blaster was a pistol-sized repeating blaster with a built-in folding stock. They were popular with space pirates and bounty hunters who wanted a small, easy-to-wield weapon with a lot of firepower. The subrepeating blaster was restricted to operating in autofire-only mode, that is, rapid automatic fire.[1]

Narp Pilyev, an Imperial bureaucrat, hired two security guards after he stole some valuable Imperial Navy documents and attempted to sell them to the Hutt crime lord Draba. These guards were armed with subrepeating blasters.[1]
