A subspace comm transfer satellite was a device used by ground based individuals to keep in contact with other planets. Typically, a subspace comm transfer satellite would be deployed in orbit of the planet, allowing individuals on the ground to use it to transmit messages from surface based communications equipment to other planets.

Imperial science team MS-133 deployed a subspace comm transfer satellite in orbit of Aaris III during their expedition to the planet.
