The substance analyzer was used to scan and analyze substances, such as food, chemicals, and drugs. Usually, substance analyzers were used to detect poisons, toxins, or other irregularities in the substance. These were often found in medkits. Many important and/or notorious people such as Xizor, and Palpatine, would use substance analyzers to prevent assassination.
