The Subterra Period was a period of time in the galaxy that lasted from 8,000 BBY to 7,000 BBY. During this time, there was new mapping of the galactic southern quadrant. The planet of Malastare acted as an anchor for short hyperlane snippets, also known as praediums. The supply lines that linked the galaxy with the Rishi Maze were also constructed.^[1]

The rapid expansion however led to lawlessness in the Rim and Coruscant lost its control on its new territories. This was thought to have contributed to the uprising of dark siders in 7,000 BBY which began the Hundred-Year Darkness.^[1]

Timeline of the Subterra PeriodEdit

• c. 8,000 BBY
  • The Republic establishes an outpost on the planet Malastare's eastern continent. Gran colonists arrive over the following millennia and begin to displace the native Dugs.
  • First contact occurs between the Meris and Teltiors, both indigenous to Merisee.

• 7,811 BBY
  • The Waymancy Storm occurs. ^[2]

• c.7,328 BBY
  • The Tapani Sector joins the Galactic Republic.
  • The Mrlsst Academy is established on Mrlsst.

• 7,003 BBY
  • The Second Great Schism occurs, and the Hundred-Year Darkness begins.

• c. 7,000 BBY
  • The war between the Meris and Teltiors on Merisee ends.
  • A prophecy tells of a Chosen One who will bring "balance to the Force". ^[source?]
  • According to legend, the Mandalorian Crusaders were formed on the planet Mandalore by the Taung, Mandalore the First.
