[edit] History
The vessel was used as a Jedi training facility and was equipped with meditation chambers for use by its Jedi occupants. Physical training took place in areas with variable gravity and atmosphere. The SunGem also featured a lightsaber training room, complete with remotes and a library of Jedi teachings kept in a collection of datacards. There was also living space for the occupants and the ship was equipped with two escape pods. It saw action during the Battle of Onderon during the Beast Wars.
The SunGem was only lightly armed, with two laser cannons (one per wing) and a proton torpedo launcher in the nose that could fire either high-yield torpedoes or standard ones. The laser cannons were unusual, however - they were actually two cannons in one. Basically, the cannons looked like a long spar with a rotation joint at the center, with each end of the "spar" ending in a laser muzzle. This allowed the ship to fire to the front and back at the same time.
