Sunburst Mining was a mining company owned by Gerell Yok'Ril^[1] which operated on the planet Cularin. Sunburst Mining attempted to mine Cloud Mountain, but the mines were ultimately abandoned. Sunburst did not completely give up their claim, however, leaving a few security droids in the mine to maintain their legal holding.^[2]

The logo of Sunburst Mining consisted of half of a sun rising over a horizon line with a pair of slitted eyes peering out of the face of the sun. A flaming "S" was placed below the image. This logo was modified and used as the symbol of the Cularin resistance, who were using the abandoned mine as a base of operations.^[2]
