Sungwas were a fierce predatory animal that were native to a moon of Bogden. Sungwas were large wolf-like canines with characteristics similar to that of a wolf and a weasel.

The pirate Gir Kybo Ren-Cha discovered several of these animals on a shipwrecked starfighter on the planet Bogden. Captain Kybo kidnapped a young woman named Gerin and cast her into the lower bowels of the ship where the shungwas hunted her down. Fortunately, Gerin was an able-bodied woman and was able to successfully avoid being eaten by the scavenger animals.
