This was one specific type of Super-class Star Destroyer, first fielded at some point prior to the Yuuzhan Vong War.^[1]

Characteristics

This particular Super Star Destroyer type was 8km in length.^[3] It shared visual similarities to the far larger Executor-class Star Dreadnought.^[4]

History

In addition to a document falsified by the Imperial Navy, which detailed a Super-class Star Destroyer,^[5] at least one smaller Super Star Destroyer model was built with similar characteristics.^[4] One such vessel was deployed at Bastion by the Imperial Remnant during the Yuuzhan Vong War.^[3] 8km long SSDs were sometimes used in comparison to warships like the Yuuzhan Vong's grand cruisers^[1] and Killik nest ships of the Swarm War.^[6]

Behind the scenes

The 8km model of Super Star Destroyer was first shown in the Dark Empire Sourcebook, although only as a sihlouette. It was later given an actual mention in Dark Tide II: Ruin, and then an actual appearance in Destiny's Way. It's sihlouette suggests that it shares several characteristics to the Exectuor-class Star Dreadnought, although obviously being significantly smaller than it.
