Surge of the Brier was a Nightsister technique, similar to Plant Surge, that had the user reach into the spirit realm and grip the essence of a sessile plant. The technique's wielder could twist and shape the plant into a form of their choosing, and by doing so could wrap an enemy in vines, or impale them with thorns.[1] It was similar to the Jedi Force power known as Consitor Sato.[2]

The Nightsister's believed that the invocation of "green spirits" could also generate a "calming aura of meditation" or break down poisons that had infected the bloodstream.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

Daniel Wallace, author of the Book of Sith: Secrets from the Dark Side, compared this ability with powers of Batman villain Poison Ivy.[3]
