Svapers were eel-like predators native to Rodia. They seized prey in their needle teeth and constricted it with their muscular bodies, drowning it beneath water before consuming it whole. Rodians often engaged in the competitive sport of svaper wrestling.

In 203 BBY, Trooga the Hutt attempted to import hundreds of dangerous but exotic wildlife to his palace beneath the seas of Ubjanel E. Unfortunately, his undersea palace was attacked and two mating svapers escaped, and from these two creatures spread more and more until the moon's seas flourished with the underwater predators.
