Sweat-stop was an anti-sweat film, a type of substance capable of preventing perspiration.[3] Usable by members of the Human species, the substance was applied by spraying it on an individual's skin.[1]

In medical facilities located on many civilized worlds, Human surgeons sprayed sweat-stop on their faces before washing to prevent sweat from dripping into their eyes during surgical operations.[1] In the year 20 BBY,[2] the substance was one of many items in short supply for the medical staff at Republic Mobile Surgical Unit 7 on the hot, humid planet Drongar, where a long-lasting battle was fought between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. During the sweat-stop shortage, the Human Republic surgeon Jos Vondar thought about the substance during a surgery to remove shrapnel from a clone trooper while the air cooler installed in his area was malfunctioning.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Sweat-stop was briefly mentioned in MedStar I: Battle Surgeons, a 2004 Clone Wars novel written by Steve Perry and Michael Reaves as the first part of the MedStar Duology.[1]
