The Sword law was a law on the planet Telerath during the Rise of the Empire era.

According to this law, all disputes had to be settled in a duel with an solid edged weapon. This law prohibited the use of blasters in almost any situation, except when an opponent violated the law with a blaster first, thereby ensuring that honor and a relative form of peace were preserved on the planet. Visitors to the planet were expected to abide by the Sword Law, although many first-time visitors who violated the law were given a brief reprieve.
