Synthdroids were a type of droid created by Loronar Corporation which used sculpted synthskin over metal armatures to resemble Humans or other lifeforms. In this respect they were similar to Human replica droids. However, unlike Human replica droids, synthdroids used CCIR technology, allowing them to be controlled from a central location and to contain minimal internal computers.

Loronar stressed the benefits of synthdroids including aesthetic quality, reliability, high performance standards and immunity to viruses. However, the CCIR technology made them expensive.

Synthdroids could be found in pleasure domes on Hesperidium and Carosi.
