Syntherope or synthrope was a strong, synthetic rope. Among other things, it was used in ascension guns as a climbing tool which allowed the user to tether themselves and quickly travel upwards or horizontally.
The Tunroth bounty hunter Kiran Tatch was known to use it when capturing his quarry. Bandoliers stored them.[1]
Degan Explorations produced syntherope.[2]
