A crude phobium emitter was a lightsaber emitter matrix designed specifically for more aggressive Jedi and Sith (likely making it well-suited for practitioners of the fourth form of lightsaber combat). A phobium emitter is heavier and more unwieldy than most disrupting emitters, but arguably far more effective.
