T-3 units were droids employed on the ice planet Akuria II during the Galactic Civil War.

Older and sturdier than the more modern astromech droids, the T-3 units were resigned to service aboard Snow Flyers, where they apparently had a primary role in the craft's operation, since they vehicle could not function without them.

It's unknown what relation these units might had with the ancient T3-series utility droid but comparing their usage, it's possible that the two models were related.

Behind the scenesEdit

The T-3 unit is mentioned by Colonel Odan in the short comic, The Kingdom of Ice, published many years before the release of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic which contained the T3-series utility droid. Both models perform nearly identical functions.
