This information became useful in Innocents of Ryloth when TX-20 utilized prisoners from a village on Ryloth as “living shields”[5], calculating that he thought “ the Jedi will not risk the prisoners safety with a direct assault.”[5]

At least three tactical droids were used by the Separatists during the Battle of Christophsis. Admiral Trench had a tactical droid aboard his command ship who controlled shield usage and acted as a tactical advisor.[6] Another tactical droid commanded the Separatist's ground forces as they foiled the Republic's ambush, before it had its head stolen by Gus to discover how the CIS knew the Republic's strategies. Asajj Ventress later dispatched another tactical droid to give orders to General Whorm Loathsom while she left to continue her master's plan.[7]

Behind the scenes

The word 'tactical' was written along the side of at least one tactical droid's head in Aurebesh.[7]
