TIE Advanced x3

The TIE Advanced x3 (TIE/x3) was a TIE testbed created by Sienar Fleet Systems.

It incorporated many of the design innovations from the TIE Advanced x1 and TIE Advanced x2 models, including higher performance ion engines than the standard TIE/ln starfighter, improved combat software, and inward-swept solar/radiator panels configured for higher pilot visibility.
However, its hullform was more consistent with the TIE fighter, rather than the experimental departures of the TIE/x1 and TIE/x2. It also lacked those models' hyperdrives. It is likely that this was the prototype for the TIE Interceptor.
