The TIE fighter boat was an aquatic superiority variant of the original TIE/ln starfighter. Like all other TIE variants, the TIE fighter boat was also manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems. This specialized TIE fighter had been designed to operate underwater.

CharacteristicsEdit

These aquatic assault craft had the classic TIE cockpit, although it was elongated and was based on the TIE/sa bomber. It was 4.3 meters long^[1] and was piloted by one crewmember, often a seatrooper.^[2]

The lower half of the solar panels were "bent" to form runners for the craft as it skimmed the water's surface. The upper half of the solar panels had been removed for improved visibility. The TIE fighter boat was armed with an aquatic blaster cannon and a concussion missile launcher.

HistoryEdit

The TIE fighter boats were often assigned to Imperial Army aquatic garrison bases where they operated as aquatic assault and patrol vehicles. TIE fighter boats also worked together with AT-AT swimmers and seatroopers in deep water assaults.^[2]
