Tactical and Operational, also known as SWAT, were specialized units utilized by the Coruscant Security Force to deal with situations for which regular patrol officers were not trained or equipped. This included situations were explosives were involved and required careful handling and disposing, and rapid entries to possibly heavily fortified buildings or rooms. SWAT-droids were used to assist officers in rapid entries. During the Clone Wars, the Anti-Terrorism Unit was assisted in making several raids on suspected terrorist strongholds. In 40 ABY the aftermath of the bombing of the The Elite hotel, Tactical and Operational referred information back to the Galactic City Strategic Center including the kind of explosives that were used and how many deaths and injuries occurred as a result of the explosion.
