Tae-Jitsu
From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.
Tae-Jitsu was a martial arts style. Phow Ji once stated that he was a master of this style.[1]
The eco-terrorist Buck claimed to know eight forms of this style. Apparently it was practiced by the Jedi Order as well, as a young Obi-Wan Kenobi easily defeated Buck, afterward commenting on his good form, but lack of balance.
[edit] Behind the scenes
Tae-Jitsu is also the name of a real-life martial arts style.[2]
Taijutsu (commonly pronounced the same way as Tae-Jitsu in western society) is also the Japanese term for unarmed combat, literally meaning "Body Skill/Art." In modern times it is popularly associated with the Bujinkan organization of martial arts lead by Masaaki Hatsumi, which is composed of nine separate schools of martial arts, including two schools of Ninjutsu.
