Takara was a crime lord, rival of Ka'Pa the Hutt.

By 10 ABY Takara had stolen a Global Communications Transponder (GCT device) from Ka'Pa which allowed him to listen in on the Hutt's communications. In the process of negotiating a deal on behalf of the New Republic, Mara Jade agreed to attempt to re-obtain the item. After attempting to track Takara's Lieutenant, Abron Mar, through the streets of Katraasii Spaceport, Jade was subdued and delivered to Takara's stronghold. Mara managed to escape using her Jedi powers and returned the device to the Ka'Pa.

Takara is named after a brand of sake.

Takara is never seen on-screen in Mysteries of the Sith. He was likely a Hutt, like his rival, Ka'Pa.
