The Talisman was an artifact believed to be able to turn things invisible. In 0 ABY, Chewbacca and Han Solo found it, but the Empire had contaminated it with a sleeping virus. When Luke Skywalker came to help, Chewbacca destroyed the Talisman to try to prevent Luke getting infected, but Luke still caught the virus.
