Death

- Watto is shown killed by cyber-maul in Star Wars Visionaries, but this comic may or may not be infinites.--Eion 02:48, 2 Dec 2005 (UTC)

ep.6?
Edit
Couldn't watto have been alive by the time of ep.6? P.h 21:09, 16 February 2006 (UTC)p.h
- I've always had the same thought myself. One of the voices added to the Tatooine celebration scene in the DVD of Return of the Jedi sounds suspiciously enough like Watto. Crowe 17:26, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Watto Controversy
Edit
in this article, could somebody please put controversy as a section. wikipedia has it, so why not this one?
- I added a small section about it, it'll get rewritten, reorganized, and everything changed, but it's still better than nothing. Feel free to add links, quotes, or anything not against our policy. - TopAce 17:41, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
- What is so contraversial with Watto?
I remember the controversy, basically some people thought Watto fit the stereotype of the moneyloving Jew. They also thought Jar Jar Binks was insulting to Jamaicans.76.114.174.169 08:00, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Bounty Hunter
Edit
We cannot be sure that Roz is mentioning Watto. I'm going to check with Chee, but if people could refrain from re-adding the info for a while, it'd be nice. .... 22:55, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- Come on now. Is it really likely that there's another Toydarian with a junk shop who lost big in a bet on the Boonta Eve podrace? Seeing as we haven't been introduced to too many Toydarians, it's more than likely that it is him. Cull Tremayne 05:46, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- Not just, but lost everything in a podrace in 32 BBY. Defies credibility. QuentinGeorge 05:48, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, come on, it's sure she's talking about Watto. She doesn't mention his name only cause it has been made as a "subtle" reference, and I believe that Jango doesn't know Watto, so, it was unecessary for Roz to be precise in her talking. -- Kaal 12:38, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
I just watched that scene, and I believe she actually says "Watto", and if not, i'm pretty sure she's talking about him. 8311-XHT 18:11, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
"Nubian" ship
Edit
Just sort of randomly nitpicky, wasn't it a mistake that the cruiser was called 'Nubian' rather than 'Nabooian' or whatever? Or is it just believed to have been a mistake, but not confirmed enough to change it? Anyway, I'm mentioning it because it's referred to as 'Nubian' in this article (which I know, yes, is what Watto calls it.) I didn't want to change it or anything without an okay, though. - (Indy Gold) 68.251.146.98 05:12, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- While I don't know if it was originally a mistake or intentional, I can tell you that later sources have since established Nubia as a separate planet, with human inhabitants called the Nubians (terribly original, eh?). (See also: Nubia Star Drives, Incorporated.) So it stays. Thanks for checking when you're unsure. :)--Valin Kenobi 04:29, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
...what's a Nubian? 76.114.174.169 08:01, 19 September 2008 (UTC) In reality... someone from the Nubia region in southern Egypt. But in Star Wars, someone from the planet of Nubia (as stated above). --Kessel 08:51, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
"Lashing out"?
Edit
"Watto was an exceptionally thrifty Toydarian, having very few personal possessions, and rarely lashing out and buying expensive equipment." Hmm. I don't know what word they were searching for here, but "lashing out" doesn't fit. Maybe they were confusing it with "lavishing" or something. "Forking out" means spending, or "laying out" or "paying up" or "shelling out" or "ponying up," none of which are really encyclopedic. Enochf 23:59, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. Not needed anyway. I deleted it. Gonk 20:48, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
At risk concerns
Edit
Watto has been tagged with the Gacleanup template for the following reason(s):
A significantly lacking notes and references section. (Only one that doesn't link anywhere!)
The community is invited and encouraged to help improve this article to meet current GA standards. --School of Thrawn 101 05:29, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Added more N&Rs. Unit 8311 08:33, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- I want you to feel empowered, 8311, to strike the clean up concerns and remove the template when you feel that all areas of concern have been satisfactorily addressed. You're doing an excellent job with the project, and I think that you should have the opportunity to gauge your own progress. --School of Thrawn 101 09:09, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
OWIE!
