Talk:22 BBY
Back to page
I was just thinking that maybe it could be possible to break down the years, particularly the Clone Wars, even further in tenths, due to the ten month system used by the Republic, so that more detail could be placed on each month since alot of things happen during 22 BBY. This would do more than just list battles of course. -- Riffsyphon1024 12:01, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)
If the Battle of Geonosis takes place five months into the year 22 BBY, and the Republic uses a 10 month calendar, then shouldn't 6 months ABG be the first month of 21 BBY?72.89.190.80 18:35, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- I get it now. The issue is that LFL went with the 12 month calendar conversion for the benefit of our dating system. Recall that the Battle of Geonosis takes place at 5 months into 22 BBY. A 10 month calendar would look like this: 22 BBY consists of months 1-5 ABG. 21 BBY consists of months 6-15 ABG. 20 BBY consists of months 16-25 ABG. And 19 BBY consists of months 26-35 ABG.
But that's not what we're utilizing.
The 12 month calendar plays out as follows: 22 BBY consists of months 1-6 ABG (which is really 6 to 12 months into 22 BBY recalling that the Battle of Geonosis is 5 months into the year). 21 BBY, therefore, consists of months 7-19 ABG. 20 BBY consists of months 20-31 ABG. ROTS is set at 19 BBY, and I've seen it set at 36 months, which indicates that it takes place in the fifth month of that year. Thus the year 19 BBY consists of months 32-43 ABG. 72.89.190.80 23:30, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

No explanation and checked as a "minor" edit. I don't understand.--Anderson 10:04, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- TCW and all events in it occurred in 22BBY. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 10:38, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- The year is never specifically stated. See discussion here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Talk:Star_Wars:_The_Clone_Wars_%28film%29#Source_for_22_BBY.3F --Anderson 20:41, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Yo the source that people have been using for 22 BBY is the novel, but the novel never outright states the year. It only says something like "several months after Geonosis" which is a fairly ambiguous statement. Also if the events of TCW take place in 22BBY it causes major continuity hiccups. We should err on the side "we don't know" as far as giving a date to these things.--Anderson 18:02, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- We all know about the continuity problems that TCW causes, but it is set in 22 BBY. We just have to wait until a revamped timeline from Leland Chee. QuiGonJinnThe ability to speak does not make you intelligent.

- Anakin is said to be twenty years old in the TCW novel. He was born in 42 BBY, 42 BBY-20=22 BBY. Also, all of the new The Clone Wars comics have the date 22 BBY printed on the very first page. As Ahsoka is already Anakin's Padawan in these stories, the TCW film must be set sometime before them in 22 BBY. --Borsk Fey'lya Talk 18:07, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Edit
- If Anakin becomes a Knight in 20 BBY, how can he be given a Padawan in 22 BBY? The novel Wild Space states that Anakin became a Knight a month after Geonosis. This also basically eliminates the ENTIRE previous Clone Wars stories... Duke Starhopper 21:07, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
