Edit
Okay, here's the idea: the official TOR site has their timeline, which has explicit dates for a number of events, including the foundation of the Republic, which computes to 25,053 BBY. Now, all of the events listed here at circa 25k are dated here as a result of the original guesstimation of the Republic's foundation, and have no concrete chronological setting. I'm pretty sure this means that a teeny-tiny shift of a half-century is in order. Dangerdan97 00:30, September 10, 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, this is going to create problems with things that were dated around or exactly this time period. It's also possible that 21,400 is itself a guesstimation, but it's the closest figure we have. I suggest that we leave everything that isn't specifically dated on the site or elsewhere (i.e., almost everything dated in this time period except for the actual founding of the Republic) in c. 25,000 and we can move events to their respective exact dates as they develop. —Milo Fett[Comlink] 17:18, September 10, 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed, we'll still need a 25,000 BBY page. Though, I've already taken the liberty of moving anything dated relative to teh foundation of teh Republic to the earlier date. What's still here is apparently dated specifically to this year. Dangerdan97 17:33, September 10, 2009 (UTC)
- Sure, as long as those events are specifically listed as happening in the same year as the foundation of the Republic. I'm at school right now so I can't get to the swtor site, but does it say that the hyperdrive was introduced the same year? —Milo Fett[Comlink] 17:42, September 10, 2009 (UTC)
- All referecnecs to the modern hyperdrive's creation inextricably link it to the foundation of the Republic (the chronologies, etc), usually in the context of "first came the hyperdrive, then came the Republic." Either way, it can't be any later than the new earlier date. Dangerdan97 17:47, September 10, 2009 (UTC)
- True, but "circa 25,000 BBY" doesn't necessarily mean "after 25,053 BBY". —Milo Fett[Comlink] 17:51, September 10, 2009 (UTC)
- Most (some I've not been able to check, specifically anything from WEG) of the remaining items still on 25,000 BBY are sourced as occurring exactly on that date, not "circa" as many of the references regarding the Republic foundation and its attendant events are. Dangerdan97 19:07, September 10, 2009 (UTC)
- I think the reference to the Unification Wars (and possibly that Nuck Lyu segmant) should be moved to the earlier date, as it says on that page that those Wars resulted in the formation of the Republic. On another note (feel free to delete but it has to be said) I am really annoyed with the swtor website, because this era used to be easy to follow and understand, now it's just downright confusing.—Unsigned comment by 90.206.121.66 (talk • contribs).

Edit
I know this is kind of an unusual question, but should there be a Template:Youmay on this article, since a number of people are likely to be confused by the existence of an exact date for the founding of the Republic? —Milo Fett[Comlink] 16:20, October 30, 2009 (UTC)
- To clarify, a Youmay informing readers that they may be looking for 25,053 BBY. —Milo Fett[Comlink] 21:04, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
- I say go for it, it will curb future "vandalism" by unwitting but well-intentioned editors. Dangerdan97 22:44, November 14, 2009 (UTC)
