I don't think these were modified E-11s. The shots were way too different. Is there a source for that? -LtNOWIS 03:10, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know, they just look like E-11 blaster rifles. Cyfiero 00:22, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Source as a modified E-11Edit
As far as the sources go in this article, the only source appears to be Battlefront II: Prima Official Game Guide. I happen to have one in possession, and it does not mention that it is a modified E-11 blaster rifle, an idea that probably originated as an assumption based on the similar appearance. However, Battlefront II was rather infamous for its incorrect graphics models of weapons, including, but not limited to, using the E-11 blaster rifle model for Boba Fett's EE-3 carbine rifle, the SE-14R light repeating blaster graphics model for Jango Fett's WESTAR-34, and the identical appearances of the EMP launcher, the V-6d mortar launcher, and the RD-4 grenade launcher. Thus, it cannot be assumed based on the appearance alone that the arc caster is a modified E-11 blaster rifle since the visual appearances of the weapons in Battlefront II is not necessarily canonical. Should the claim that arc casters are modified E-11 blaster rifles be removed?
It might also be noted that "arc caster" may very well be just a generic name for a type of weapon, in the same way as "blaster rifle," "blaster pistol," and "grenade launcher." It is just that so far no specific model has been named and the model that the dark troopers' utilized has not been specifically identified. Sol Pacificus (talk) 02:02, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
- I also believe that the current image for the arc caster should be removed, for the same reasons as stated above, that Battlefront II's visual depiction of weapons are unreliable. Sol Pacificus (talk) 02:04, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
ARC vs. arc Edit
Hmm why is "ARC" entirely capitalized as though it were an acronym? In Battlefront II, Battlefront II: Prima Official Game Guide, and Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, the weapon's name is written as "arc caster." The only source I'm missing is Battlefront: Elite Squadron, so I can't confirm with that. Since it is a newer source I suppose if it presents it as ARC caster instead of arc caster, then the former would be correct, but like I said I can't confirm with Elite Squadron.
