Ace Azzameen & Battle of EndorEdit

Is it prudent to assume that Ace Azzameen served on the Millenium Falcon (possibly as one of the background characters) during the attack on the second Death Star? (seeing as the player character in X-Wing Alliance played from the POV of Lando). - Falmarin 20:40, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)

He could have alternatively served in the gunner positions as well; I think I'll pull out my DVD of RotJ tonight and see if I can get some good shots of the background characters in the Millenium Falcon, just for shits and giggles. Also as far as the article is concerned I split up the sentance which described the scenarios which Ace has piloted in - since his participation as a pilot in the Battle of Endor is speculative. -- Falmarin 01:05, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Right after you join the Alliance, the new souvenir you get is a Rebel assignment poster. There is a rebel pilot before Rebel fighters. It's not clear if this Rebel is intented to be a recruition memorial of Ace, or someone else. ~~ 11:26, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

• Is that a pic that's officially attributed to Ace? I'd always been under the impression he was in a gun turret. Sticking Ace on the crew is exactly the way LFL likes to handle stuff like this; if there's been no official mention to that effect it's probably just because there hasn't been any reason to. • Maybe there are some other angles, but that photo does resemble Blount. Blount is referred to as Colonel Cracken's wingman, and Cracken's card shows the guy sitting behind Lando. There's also a Hyperspace photo showing that Cracken actor sitting in a gun turret. If we want Ace to be participating at Endor, and not just be some random crewmember sitting at a console in the back, he has to be in a turret, since he's obviously not piloting in the movie. For now, the only official Ace picture is in game screenshots like the one I uploaded. :) --JMM 17:53, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
  • Actually, I think that pic might be the "unknown navigator" mentioned by Sompeetalay in his blog. Given that it seems Cracken and Blount were the people manning the turrets, this could well be Ace. jSarek 12:00, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
    • If Cracken can be a gunner, and Max can be canon, I'm sure this can be Ace. We might just see it somewhere down the line in the work of Pena. .... 12:09, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
      • I believe we only see Cracken sitting in a gunner's station, so I'd say Blount can remain at his station in the cockpit, and Ace can be in the other gunner's seat. --JMM 12:51, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
        • Except, from what I understand from Somp's blog, when the battle starts, Cracken and Blount disappear but this guy stays in the cockpit. So either he's not Ace, or Ace actually served in the cockpit at the navigators station rather than in the turret. jSarek 00:39, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
          • From what I can gather, jSarek has it right. Here's the evidence: Before the hyperspace jump, there are 5 in the cockpit - Nien and Lando in the front, Unknown and Cracken in the rear, and another guy standing up between them. As this man's face comes into the light, he looks just like the Wookieepedia photo of Blount, therefore we can assume the 5th man IS in fact Blount. After they revert to realspace, Cracken and Blount both run out of the cockpit to battle stations. Since we know that Cracken manned the top gun turret, we can assume that Blount (his wingman from Tala Squadron) manned the bottom turret. The Unknown 3rd man who remains behind in the cockpit MUST therefore be Ace Azzameen. If this is so, it means that Ace actually has 2 lines in the movie: "Pressure's steady" and "Woah!"     • During the game, you can fool around with different camera angles in the hangar bay. You can get a head-on shot and then zoom in to see Ace and MK in the cockpit. --JMM 20:45, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

I think ace actually dose talk within the game, although I don’t think he said much. Although I haven’t played XWA in a few years I remember on the mission you defend the civilian convoy from the Experimental Ties you fly off to defend it with one other rebel pilot. When you spot them attacking the freighters the first rebel pilot says in a female voice something like “Hey Red 2 check out those Ties”, and the other pilot says

Now since there were only two rebel pilots in the area (one being a female and the other being ace). Now unless the female pilot was talking to another rebel pilot via radio or something I think the pilot above had to be ace.
